We sat down for our first in-depth interview on the business model and mission behind Maxwell with The Stanza. The Stanza recently went viral for their videos about the issues at Soho House, specifically around how the business model around private clubs is broken and doesn't deliver on community promises, so we're honored to be the counter example, the "contrarian" club actually doing something different, prioritizing building a real group of friends, and the business model to support it that makes sense.
Our goal is to create that sense of belonging that you used to feel on a college campus or a small town or a church or synagogue, and to satisfy that urge that has you saying "we should buy a bar with our friends" or "lets all move to the same cul-de-sac" -- the sense of comfort and home that we've lost.
